Serving Egyptian-Mediterranean food shaped by decades of care and community.
A Fort Worth Original Since 1992
Opened in 1992, King Tut began as a small Egyptian-Mediterranean kitchen in Fort Worth, long before the area became a dining destination. From the start, the goal was simple: serve honest food rooted in Egyptian tradition and welcome the neighborhood like family. Over the years, it grew into a trusted local favorite with a strong community following.
About the Owner
Founded in 1992 by Amin Mahmoud, a native of Cairo, King Tut began as a small family-run restaurant built on traditional Egyptian-Mediterranean cooking and genuine hospitality. Amin brought flavors from home to Fort Worth, helping introduce Egyptian cuisine to the community. More than 30 years later, his commitment to quality, consistency, and welcoming guests like family remains at the heart of King Tut.
Egyptian-Mediterranean Food With Deep Roots
The menu reflects classic Egyptian and Mediterranean cooking made for everyday dining. Slow-cooked proteins, warm breads, fresh sides, and bold spices define the experience. These dishes introduced many Fort Worth locals to Egyptian food for the first time and remain a reason guests return year after year. One thing that sets this kitchen apart is the wide range of vegetarian and vegan options. Many guests appreciate having real choices that feel complete and filling.
New Location With The Same Heart 💛
After more than 30 years on Magnolia Avenue, the restaurant moved in 2024 to 508 W Rosedale Street in Fort Worth, inside the Hemphill Crossing shopping center. The setting changed, but the food, values, and welcoming spirit stayed the same. It’s a place locals trust for consistent food, friendly service, and a relaxed visit. Many guests have been coming here for decades, sharing meals with family, friends, and coworkers through different stages of life.
